Welcome to the RRT IV Website

Mission:
Our mission is to protect public health, welfare, safety and the environment by ensuring coordinated, efficient, and effective support of the responding federal, state, commonwealth, and local On Scene Coordinators and Remedial Project Managers to significant oil and hazardous substance incidents within Federal Region IV as mandated by the National Contingency Plan (NCP). We are also committed towards providing for the development and coordination of preparedness activities prior to a pollution incident by addressing regional issues and providing guidance to Federal Region IV Area Committees, State Emergency Response Commissions (SERCs), and Local Emergency Planning Committees (LEPCs).

Leadership:
The RRT is Co-Chaired by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG).

Authority:
The NCP, Title 40 U.S. Code of Federal Regulations Part 300.115 delineates the expectations and objectives of the various RRTs established throughout the nation.
